These are 15 free hazard identification games in 3D. Each one puts you inside a workplace, a construction site, a factory, a warehouse, an office and more, and asks you to find every hazard. Most lists of workplace safety games are ideas for activities to run with a group. These are games you can play right now. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to install: they run in your browser on a phone or a computer.

How to play
- On a phone or tablet: your left thumb walks, a drag anywhere else looks around, and a tap identifies.
- On a computer: W, A, S and D walk, dragging the mouse looks around, and a click identifies.
- Keyboard only: the arrow keys walk and turn, Page Up and Page Down look up and down, and Enter identifies whatever is in the centre circle.
Each correct tap opens a card with the hazard explained. A wrong tap counts against you, so look before you tap. When you finish, the game lists the hazards you missed and can show them in the scene.
Use them in a toolbox talk or a training session
- As a group: put one game on a projector or a TV. One person walks, and the group calls out what they see.
- One each: send the link to everyone’s phone. Each person plays alone, then compare scores and the hazards people missed.
- Talk it through: the end screen lists every missed hazard. Ask the team which of them you have on your own site, and who will fix it.
- On paper: ten of the games come with a PDF and a PowerPoint of the picture with the answers, linked under each game above.

Change construction-site to the name in any game’s address to embed that one instead.
Questions people ask
What is a hazard identification game?
It is a game where you look at a workplace and find the things that could hurt someone: an unguarded machine, a blocked fire exit, a ladder standing in a spill. These games are in 3D, so you walk around and look up, down and behind things, the way you would on a real site inspection.
Are these workplace safety games free?
Yes. All 15 are free to play online, with no sign-up and no download. They run in your browser on a phone or a computer.
What is a hazard hunt?
A hazard hunt is a walk around a workplace to find hazards, often run as a team exercise. Each of these games is a hazard hunt you can do from a phone. Play one, then walk your own site and look for the same things.
What is the difference between a hazard and a risk?
A hazard is anything that can cause harm, such as a trailing cable. The risk is how likely it is to cause harm and how bad that harm would be. Finding the hazards is the first step of any risk assessment or HIRA.
What are the benefits of safety games for employees?
People look for the hazards themselves instead of being told about them. A wrong tap costs points, so they learn to look carefully. And the end screen lists what each person missed, which gives a toolbox talk something real to start from.
Do safety games reduce workplace injuries?
Not on their own. A game trains the habit of looking for hazards. Injuries come down when the hazards people find on their own site get reported and fixed.
Can safety games replace formal safety training?
No. Use them alongside induction, permit-to-work and job-specific training, not instead of it.
What are the best safety games for construction workers?
Start with the Construction Site (excavation, work at height, lifting, confined space and permits to work), then the Scaffolding game.
Can I put a game on my own website or training platform?
Yes. Copy the embed code in the training section above. It works on any page that accepts an iframe.
Who made these
Every game is built from a picture quiz on UPEHS.com, and the hazard cards use the answers from those quizzes. They are made by Ulhas Polle, an EHS and sustainability manager with 20 years in workplace safety.
If you run safety for a team, POLLE Safety is free web software for Permit to Work, Toolbox Talks and Safety Committee: free, every module, no card, no caps. Try it.
